You'll need an odd number of rounds for the granny squares because after each round we're turning our work, I made 11 rounds.

Pattern :

1st Granny Square (Make 1 with all 11 rounds)
Round 1: Make a slip knot, ch4, sl st into beginning ch to make a loop (or magic circle) bdc into loop (Beginning Double Crochet - single crochet, single crochet into left bar of previous sc)(please refer to video tutorial), 2dc, ch2, *3dc, ch2* repeat pattern in * 3 times, sl st in bdc to finish the round
Round 2: ch1, turn your work, corner: *3dc, ch2, 3dc* in ch2 space, ch1, repeat corner pattern, ch1 3 times, sl st in 1st dc to finish the round
Round 3: ch1, turn your work, *3dc in ch1 space, ch1, corner pattern, ch1* repeat pattern in * 3 times sl st in 1st dc to finish the round
Round 4 - 11: ch1, turn your work, 3dc & ch1 in every ch1 space, corner pattern & ch1 in every corner space, sl st in 1st dc to finish the round
ch1 to fasten off after 11th round

2nd Granny Square (Repeat Granny Square pattern for 10 rounds)
Round 11 (RIGHT SIDE): ch1, turn your work, *3dc, ch1* 5 times, joining corner: 3dc, ch1, (with 1st granny square WRONG SIDE face up on desk, fold corner so you're working into the RIGHT SIDE of the corner) sl st into matching corner, ch1, 3dc to finish corner pattern, instead of ch1 - sl st into 1st granny square ch1 space, *3dc, sl st to 1st granny square* repeat 9 times, repeat joining all corners and joining clusters for 3 sides leaving the first/ last side open, sl st in 1st dc to finish the round, ch1 to fasten off

Straps (Repeat twice)
Right Handed - From the top right hand corner start the strap 2 clusters in
Left Handed - From the top left hand corner start the strap 2 clusters in
1: Make a slip knot, standing sc in ch1 space, 3hdc
2-52: ch1, turn your work, 3hdc
Join strap to other side of the same granny square 2 clusters in from the corner: ch1, sl st, *hdc, sl st* repeat 3 times, ch1 to fasten off

Weave in your ends and your new tote bag is complete!
