Row 5: ch 3, turn your work, 4 dc in the first dc, * sc in the 2nd dc, ch 3, sc in the 4th dc, 5 dc in the sc *, repeat between the * until the end of your row. Your last 5 dc are placed in the 3rd chain from the previous row.
Row 6: ch 4, turn your work, dc in the 2nd dc, ch 1, dc in the next, ch 1, dc in the next, ch 1, dc in the next, * ch 1, sc in the ch3sp, ch 1, dc in the next dc, ch 1, dc in the next, ch 1, dc in the next, dc in the next, ch 1, dc in the next *, repeat between the * until the end of the row. Your last dc is placed in the 3rd chain from the previous row.
Repeat row 5 and 6 until your shawl has the desired size for you. I’ve made a total of 61 rows and my last row was a row 5.
If you like, you can make tassels on each end of your shawl.
Tassels: Wrap the yarn 30 times around the longest side of your cell phone. Thread your tapestry needle with about 12″ of yarn and tie the top of your tassel. Don’t cut the thread because we attach the tassel to the shawl with this tail end.
Cut the ends of the yarn and remove from your cell phone. Thread tapestry needle with another 12″ of yarn and wrap it really tight around tassel 10 times. Trim the tassel ends evenly and you are done.
