Skirt width: length of your hip measurement + 2.5cm / 1”
For example, if your waist measurement is 106cm / 42”, your skirt width will be 108.5cm / 43”
Project is worked flat, flip at row change.
Ch 120 + 2
Row 1: Starting from the third chain from the hook, hdc across (120)
Row 2: Ch 2, hdc along (120)
Repeat Row 2 until the length of the project is equal to the skirt width defined in the Pattern Notes.
Mark the side the last row finished on, this will be the top of the skirt.
Sl st last row of the project to the first row for 60 stitches, Finish off.
Join yarn on marked side.
Row 1: sc evenly around, join to first sc with a sl st
Row 2: Ch 1, flip, sc around, join to first sc with a sl st
Repeat row 2 until waistband is 3.5cm / 1 ⅓” high
With the sewing needle and thread, overlap both ends of the elastic and sew them together (the extra 1cm / ½” is for seam allowance) together forming a loop (be careful not to twist it!).
Fold the top of the waistband over the elastic, and sl st the top row of the waistband to the bottom row around (this forms a tube with the elastic inside).
Finish off, weave in ends.
