To begin working the first leg, hdc in next 69 sts and then in one side of each ch-10. DO NOT join with a slip stitch - just continue straight on to the next round of this leg (79)
Continue working rounds of hdc until 2.5cm / 1” above the knee.

Finish off.

Join yarn to other side of ch-10, and work the second leg as the first leg.
Finish off.

Waistband

Join yarn on the waist of the trousers
Row 1: sc evenly around, join to first sc with a sl st
Row 2: Ch 1, flip, sc around, join to first sc with a sl st
Repeat row 2 until waistband is 3.5cm / 1 ⅓” high
With the sewing needle and thread, overlap both ends of the elastic and sew them together (using 1cm / ½” for seam allowance) together forming a loop (be careful not to twist it!).
Fold the top of the waistband over the elastic, and sl st the top row of the waistband to the bottom row around (this forms a tube with the elastic inside).
Finish off, weave in ends.
